Jane was raised on a small farm in Southwestern Iowa, USA. Being the youngest of five siblings, she was determined to establish her independence and individualism. As a child, she enjoyed drawing, but little did she realize how this would grow into her art in later years. When given the opportunity to paint (her room, a bike, or furniture), she would choose vivid colors such as Red or Purple. After starting china painting, she realized Color was one of her strengths. Jane has had the opportunity to paint with artists from around the world. She believes one needs to continue to study to grow in your art and teach new points to her students.

Jane first started painting in 1997 and began teaching in 2002. Who would imagine that this wonderful art would take her all over the world? Having a background in business, being in a leadership position was natural. She participates in leadership positions with the Iowa World Organization of China painters, her local club, WOCP Board of Directors, and Board of Directors for IPAT. Jane has taught at many Porcelain Schools. Her art has been published in IPAT, China Decorator, & China Painter magazine. She currently has pieces on display in the WOCP and IPAT Museum and the Milan Artist Museum in Milan, Italy. Jane’s passion is to teach and encourage other artists in their art. She feels everyone has their own style and sometimes needs just a little push to get outside their box. Teaching is not only about educating your students but also about encouraging and showing love and compassion for them. We can be the light in their lives for the time we are with them. Teaching in Portugal and Italy with students from other countries has taught her about understanding other cultures. Jane’s passion in teaching is to help students to understand color, design, dimension and to mature your style. She strongly believes that God has blessed her in her art and will take her where he wants her to go.
